Lee Balterman's Chicago

Reception with the artist: Friday, Sept. 8, 5-8pm

Lee Balterman has romanced the city of Chicago with his camera for six decades and shows no signs of falling out of love. Balterman spent years as a freelance professional photographer, executing editorial assignments for magazines such as Life, Fortune, and Sports Illustrated, and for agencies such as Globe and Black Star. This September, Stephen Daiter Gallery will exhibit 57 vintage photographs from the fifties and sixties by this compulsive observer of the human carnival. The show will be accompanied by a beautifully printed 64-page catalogue with two essays and 50 reproductions. Much of the work showcased was a private labor of love and many will be seen in public for the first time. Join us to enjoy the accomplishments of a passionate artist!
